Local Spring Goodness

We have the first of the season’s local produce in, including asparagus and strawberries from Scharf Farms in Milstadt, Illinois. Local honey is also back in stock. Bekemeier’s Ozarka Honey is available in 12 oz, 46 oz and 5 lb jars at the store. We’re also now carrying Bekemeier’s all-fruit spread made from locally grown strawberries and blackberries.

Old North House Tour: May 19th

The Old North St. Louis House tour is coming up on May 19. The Co-op will be one of many stops on the tour and we will remain open until 5pm to make sure everyone gets a chance to stop in and see our store.

Some of our local vendors will be on hand to talk about their products and we will have some free samples out for those who stop by. Tickets to the house tour will be available at the Co-op on Monday, April 30th; you can also get them at the Old North Restoration Group Office anytime.

13th Street Garden

The 13th Street Garden volunteers have planted spinach, turnips, collards, green beans, peas, bok choy and chard in the re-contoured berms. In the green house tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, cucumbers, dill, parsley, and cilantro are all getting stronger for transplant later this month. If you’d like to volunteer to help with our garden, you can contact Veronica at veronicasgardengrows@gmail.com or just come to one of our open garden sessions on Tuesday or Thursday evenings 6-7:30 pm and Saturday mornings 10-11:30 am.
